Achievements

Thanks to our supporters Starlight Family has been able to meet regular costs including:
  •  the running of the school which must meet government requirements to be allowed to operate
  •  the requirements of the orphans and school children within our care including food, clothing and medicine for both groups and accommodation
  •  community outreach for vulnerable adults and children including the provision of medicine and education to improve health awareness and agricultural skills

A few of the orphans that we care for.              Community outreach provision of mosquito nets.   Starlight pupils looking forward to netball.

Apart from the many regular costs the following improvements have been achieved:

2016

School registration fees - a large part of our donation income was needed to comply with government registration requirements. Having done this successfully means that the school can continue to operate.

Community thank you for supporting the school

Water tank for the harvesting water for the school - the provision of a water tank for the school in 2016 means that the children have more access to safe water.

New Water Tank for Starlight School

Toilets & hand washing facilities - an urgent upgrade to the toilet and hand washing facilities were completed.

New Toilet and Handwashing Facilities

School building - at the beginning of 2016 we were able to finish all of the classrooms of the school. Further donations allowed for some school equipment to be provided.

2015

School building - in 2015 the building that Starlight Family was renting to use as a school became unavailable. Thanks to donations a new building was started and the school was able to continue.

Construction of the school

Community outreach - in 2015 we were able to help vulnerable members of the local community by providing a bicycle for a woman with a physical disability; a wheelchair for a teenage girl with an undiagnosed illness and a tank to collect water for an elderly couple.
